Ingram
Village Hall Refurbishment

Our village hall has long been in need of updating and
refurbishment. We are at last in a position to improve the fabric of the building now that funding has been
secured from a number of sources. These improvements are :-
- to replace the
hall floor with a new sub-structure, full insulation & a new wooden surface
- to strip off
the wall panelling, fully insulate the outside walls & replace the interior surface with part panelling
(lower section) & painted plasterboard above
- to install an Air2Air heat source system
& circulation fans with appropriate control timers.
- to renew the
exterior roof & strengthen the underlying structure so solar panels or tiles can be installed which
will then produce our own electricity supply & generate income from the excess towards future Hall
improvements
The sources of funding
are:
|
Councillor Murray's Capital Programme
|
£1,000
|
All the above should be completed between January –
March 2010 during which time the hall will be closed. The electrical wiring will also be
overhauled.
But things get even better!
The Ingram Village Hall and Community bid was chosen as
the winner for the North East in the British Gas Green Streets project following a presentation by the village hall committee at Gosforth Park Hotel as part of the selection process on
27th October 09!
You can read more about this exciting opportunity on our Green Streets
page.
